Curious as to what I was in for, and wanting some solid guidance, I went looking for advice on how to be a good Army girlfriend. Not sure how wise that was. What follows is some humble advice on how to cope with being the significant other of soldier. Dating a soldier is a commitment, and not one to be taken lightly. Read those web pages and top ten lists. Then do some soul-searching. As soon as my guy used the g-word, I hit the keyboard and called my sister-in-law retired Army wife extraordinaire. Both gave me a wealth of knowledge I otherwise would not have had. Get used to being alone.

Our modern listing includes sets that were designed 10 years ago, and a decade is a long time in technological terms. While no conflict is specified for this set, the mention of desert kit strongly suggests the war in Iraq, yet uniform, kit and weaponry have changed over the years since that conflict began. Still there is always strong demand for today’s soldiers, so this set from Caesar is one of the latest in that line.
The poses in this set are really excellent, with several soldiers having a levelled weapon and others apparently moving rapidly. In the war in Iraq a large part of the activity is in patrolling hostile urban areas, which is done by four-man teams, which move with weapons trained to front, back and both sides.
We only carry genuine military surplus, no knockoffs! We have U.S. Army and Navy camo, uniforms, and gear from WWII to modern day. We also carry German, Russian, British, French, Chinese, plus military surplus from many other countries.
Have they “earned” it already? Well, how about it, Ranger snob? Army Soldiers all along beginning with combat arms, and to keep BLACK for Army Rangers many whom are infuriated bezerkoid that their sole ownership of the black color was taken away. Esperit de Corps is not reserved for just a few units to look good at the expense of everyone else, ALL Soldiers and units have their own colored distinctive beret and personalities that fits their mission profiles.
He asks, “Why not the same ethos here in the U. Now the fun begins! Army-wide Black Beret being worn: Self-image is not a trivial matter, and the military snobs who want to have the majority of the Army’s Soldiers walk around defeated and dejected just so they can feel superior know it. Its time we assault this BS mindset and stick a bayonet through it.
The experiences of the Airborne with the maroon, the rangers with the black and special forces with their green beret showed the same truths; issuing them the garrison cap that was never worn and discarded was and still is a waste of money when they have better headgear in their berets.

He later worked alongside the Paradise Lost Army in their anti-Patriot activities, but was captured and forced to undergo heavy cybernetic experimentation. Contents Biography Early life and career Jack was born on a rainy day in Liberia. During his youth, in the turbulent period that was the First Liberian Civil War , Jack was adopted by Solidus Snake, who named him and became his godfather after he killed the former’s parents.
He and other children were shown Hollywood action films daily for “image training,” and were given food mixed with gunpowder containing toluene to make them more controllable. On one occasion, Jack was injected with an unknown substance during a physician’s experiment. On another, Jack witnessed Solidus demonstrate to him that blades were a “noble weapon” compared to guns, by slitting another soldier’s throat in front of him.
Raiden during his time as a child soldier. Under Solidus, Jack became a killing machine, known alternately as the “White Devil” and “Jack the Ripper” due to his incredibly high kill rate compared to other boys his age, as well as a reference to his being one of the few Caucasians born in Liberia. Armed with a gun at the age of six, he would later remember it as an AK rifle, as well as a knife, he proved to be a superior soldier, rising to become captain of the Small Boy Unit at ten. His skills with a bladed weapon, as well as his cruelty in dispatching enemies with them, was another reason for his “Ripper” nickname.
After the war ended, Solidus had Jack placed in a relief center. Non-“Metal Gear Saga” information ends here. There, Jack came into the hands of the Patriots, who implanted his cerebral cortex with a high concentration of nanomachines , in order to have him function as a back-up system for an optic-neuro AI. Now living a life in the United States, Jack joined the military where his admirable skills were at first recognized by the U.

May 27th, Nick Boone with a sample of the ballistic wallpaper Credit: US Army It sounds like an old Goon Show joke, but soldiers may one day protect themselves from blasts by wallpapering temporary shelters. It may not be very decorative, but the new ballistic wallpaper under development by the US Army Corps of Engineers uses a special fiber inlay to help prevent walls from collapsing under blast effects.
If you wander the back alleys of British towns, you can still spot obscure windows dating back to the Second World War showing traces of sticky tape that the owners never bothered to strip off. During the German Blitz, Britons would crisscross their windows with ordinary tape to keep the glass from turning into flying daggers during bomber attacks.
It was a simple fix that saved many thousands of lives and the principle is being revived to reinforce not windows, but whole walls. These may seem substantial, but when struck by an explosive shell or missile, they can collapse into dangerous rubble. The new wallpaper, which was unveiled at the Pentagon on May 14 as part of Department of Defense Lab Day, is a portable, lightweight means of quickly reinforcing existing walls.
It consists of rolls of adhesive wallpaper made of flexible polymer film, which is embedded with Kevlar fibers in a crisscross pattern. According to Boone, the wallpaper can be easily applied and keeps blast-damaged walls from turning into a hail of flying debris. Boone says that the wallpaper has already undergone blast testing at Fort Polk, Louisiana, and Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, and is still in the research and development stage, but it could one day see use in the field.

CHAPTER Winning the West: The Army in. the Indian Wars, Perhaps because of a tendency to view the record of a military establishment in terms of conflict, the U.S. Army’s operational experience in the quarter century following the .
Thursday, 23 February Continuing the legacy model has resulted and continues to result in documented sub-optimal outcomes and increased deaths among patients transported by helicopter in the current conflict. On the surface, the Army advertisement campaign sells a story that their performance is exemplary and unprecedented in the history of war. The press machine churns out sound bites, which are picked up in major media without the barest pretense of auditing.
Where do you get these figures? For instance, in an internal memorandum , the issue of poor or nonexistent tracking is repeatedly hammered: Lack of patient care documentation in the medical record and trauma databases is the greatest hindrance to developing data needed to drive improvements in MEDEVAC care. Lack of advanced flight medic capability has directly resulted in poor outcomes in multiple cases and was the impetus for the deployment of critical care nurses to fill this capability gap as well as the deployment of a physician medical director.
Several recent cases illustrate the complexity and acuity of patients currently being managed by a single EMT-B flight medic. Air Force Pedro flies with a minimum of two medics per bird often three who are on average more highly trained. The operational units have attempted to fill the capability gaps of our current MEDEVAC model with ad hoc methods that are not standardized and often have significant operational limitations.
Further, no US Army standard treatment protocols exist, as these are significantly variable across different units. They are allowed to perform Rapid Sequence Intubation and administer blood products but these skills are rarely used or sustained. Every GSAB flight surgeon currently deployed to Afghanistan is a PGY1 general medical officer with no additional training in out-of-hospital care, trauma management, medic training, in-flight critical care, or medical oversight of a helicopter EMS system.
